HMS CHOIR

COUNTERPOINT ENSEMBLES CHOSEN - The following students have been chosen to be members of the Counterpoint Ensembles at HMS7/8, a select group of singers who will perform special music at concerts and at contest. Seventh graders are Emma Unsderfer, Bailey Lamer, Claire Stockton, Jordyn Lipe, Ivy Williams , Dominque and Diametric Hamm, Briannah Terwey, Savannah Murray, Jennifer Youker, LeAnn Lambert, Teddi Trammell, Diajah Smith, Tomah Ford, Britni Nichols, and Katie Burns. Eighth graders are Barb Coats, Taylor Deardoff, Ashley Montague, Kylee Dutch, Megan Hale, Martha Nicholson, Ashley Elliott, Sarah Jurgens, Schnelle Smith, Rosalinda Hernandez, Brianna Cushinberry, Sahira Rojo, Maura Vieyra, Heidi Keller, Alana Dove, and Scarlet Guerra. Congratulations to everyone! Great job.

PIONEER LEAGUE FESTIVAL - On Sat., Nov. 10th, Derby will be hosting a Pioneer League Honor Choir Festival. Division 1 schools participating are Hutchinson, Derby, Haysville, and Maize South. Each school will be represented by twenty singers who will combine into a league choir. Students will be rehearsing during the day and presenting a concert for their parents at 3 p.m.. Singers selected to represent HMS7/8 are Zach Cullison, Connor Lane, Claire Stockton, Joey Wood, Briannah Terwey Savannah Murray, Bethany Manny, Kayla St. Lauret, Cheyenne Bloom, Charleen Jenkins, Shnelle Smith, Brianna Cushinberry, Dalton Rodriquez, Josh Zerger, Matt McKenna, Chris Marshall, John Perser, Nick Ringler-Woodman, Ron Boyd, Joseph Leshore.

CHOIR TAKES ON A NEW LOOK.... This year the middle school choirs will be decked out in a new uniform look! Students will need to wear black pants and shoes that are purchased on their own and a matching polo shirt that has been specially designed for our school. Shirts will be handed out prior to the first concert. The cost of the choir shirt is $13 and for Adams Street Singers it is $15. PAYMENT FOR THE SHIRT IS OCT. 15TH. Please make checks payable to Hutchinson Middle School.

DISTRICT VOCAL CONCERT - On Tues., Oct. 23rd, vocal students from 6th grade through high school will be presented in a mass concert at Memorial Hall at 7 p.m.. This year's theme will be multicultural music, which the choirs have really enjoyed working on. Middle school will be showcasing many soloists and instrumental accompaniments. Students need to be at Memorial Hall by 6:20 p.m. for their choir warm-up. ALL CHOIR MEMBERS NEED TO WEAR THEIR UNIFORM FOR THE CONCERT - shirt, black pants and shoes. This uniform will be used for all performances. All are welcome to attend this free concert. Come enjoy an hour of wonderful music.
