B Team English Classes are finishing the typed final draft of their descriptive essays on a person, place or thing. Literature classes have been studying literary terms in narrative text. about the climax in the story, "Three Skeleton Key." 're also learning the difference between similes and metaphors. we will tackle onomatopoeia, personification, hyperbole and idiom. always, we read, read, read. of books are being checked out of the library. it up! Math - have been working on Area and Perimeter measuring their desktops, marker boards, doorways, and counter tops. They are using geoboards and will continue working on area of compound shapes. Science is working on a large project about healthy eating and the food pyramid. September 17th was Constitution Day, so Social Studies classes have enjoyed singing the Preamble this week. The School House Rock song will forever be embedded in their minds. If you're lucky, you might even find a student brave enough to sing it to you. They have also drawn Kansas Region Maps and will soon be working on Indian Projects.
