C Team

Team C science students have been very busy this past month! In honor of Veteran’s Day, the students selected a topic of Science and Technology inventions and how it relates to war. Some students ended up researching a family member’s position in the war and what they used for combat. The students were given several options to use for their presentations such as a Power Point, a poster, or a booklet. On November 8th, the pod gathered in the commons area for 2nd and 3rd hour to view each others presentations. While gathering information and putting their presentations together, I observed a great deal of peer tutoring. It was exciting to see other students teaching and encouraging one another on the activity. Overall, I believe the project was rewarding to many students!

In Math and Algebra, the students are preparing to take two major district tests before Christmas break.

English class will be finishing a writing assignment and begin reading a novel. During this trimester, students will be learning how to write about literature while reading and discussing Walk Two Moons. In addition, students will be practicing their research skills on Fridays.

Mrs. Downing’s literature class is finishing the novel Lightning Thief. The kids have enjoyed this novel. Testing is right around the corner, so we will continue preparing for it. Also please encourage your children to read so they can meet their AR goals.
