SCHOOL NEWS & INFORMATION Lincoln Elementary School is located on Hutchinson's south side with an enrollment of about 215 in kindergarten through sixth grade. We also provide services for hearing impaired students and learning disabled students. We are located in the middle of the Lincoln School Project area of Hutchinson, a visionary program that seeks to revitalize a section of the community. Fourth grade students in the 1998-99 school year are part of the High Flyers of 2007 Program. If they attend Lincoln for at least two years, graduate from Hutchinson High School with at least a 3.0 grade point average, have citizenship recommendation letters from the high school and be academically qualified to attend one of the partner colleges. the students will have full scholarships to Hutchinson Community College and Sterling College. A Title I school, Lincoln is the one of the most diverse schools in the district. FEBRUARY NEWS Valentine Parties on Valentine’s Day: Valentine Parties will be February 14. All classes will participate. Students will give valentines to other students in their classes. The school has extra boxes of valentines if you need help for this day. Room Parents may contact the classroom teacher and offer help on treats and games. It should be a fun day at school. Principal Retirement: Michelle Young has announced her retirement effective February 1. She will not be working during February, but will return, work the month of March, and continue the job share until the end of the school year. Her last day of work will be June 13. Family Fun: “Family – Friendly, Free, Fun” Say that 3 times fast. Now think, where can you find it in Hutchinson? On Sunday, February 25th from 2-4 p.m., “Family – friendly free fun” can be found at the Venue 302 at 302 E. 30th St. Singer, songwriter, and author, Monte Selby, will be performing in concert. Monte incorporates humorous family stories with music, guitar accompaniment and audience participation to create an afternoon of enjoyment for all ages. Come one and all to hear Monte Selby in concert. Bring the kids, parents, neighbors, and friends.
