MACHINE TECHNOLOGY

Machine Technology

Machinists are highly skilled individuals who produce precision parts in all sectors of manufacturing.  The machinist is the key person who works from engineering drawings to saw, mill, turn, drill, grind and shape parts to the required specifications.  The parts produced with manual and automated machines are used by medical, aerospace, computer, automotive and almost every other industry.  The Machine Technology program allows students to gain in-dept understanding of the machine process from start to finish.  Students learn about:  blueprint reading, CAD drafting, the machine process, computer numerical control, etc.  They also gain experience with the hands-on operation of standard machine tools used in the industry such as the:  drill press, lathes, milling machines, metal saws, and surface grinders.
