Using the PDC Log Form in MyLearningPlan.com

A new feature in www.MyLearningPlan.com  is the PDC Log Form. This form was developed to track those 30 minute, one or two hour short inservice sessions that occur.

Examples would be Ruby Payne Technical Assistance, Baldrige training, technology training, or school improvement meetings. Small group activities, rather than total staff sessions, are also times when the PDC Log Form can be used to record inservice time.

The PDC Log Form should be used to track the time spent mentoring a new teacher or supervising a student teacher.

Professional reading done as part of a building initiative or study group can also be logged for PDC points.

Professional reading related to one of the goals on your IPDP can also be logged for PDC points. However, the goal must clearly indicate that reading is one of the strategies you will be using to reach this goal. An example would be:

Increase the integration of technology in daily instruction through attendance at related workshops, professional reading, and using Internet and other resources, i.e. Helping Teachers, to locate samples of appropriate lessons. I will track the number of times I use technology in my lesson plans and present a monthly summary to my principal.

You do not need to submit the log form after each activity. They do not need to be related types of activities. Submitting your PDC Log Forms at the end of a semester, trimester, or year is acceptable.
