The final meeting for the Hutchinson community to guide the school district to determine priorities for its facilities was held Tuesday, April 23rd. The meeting capped a busy month in which the Hutchinson Public Schools Facilities Steering Committee hosted more than a dozen public engagement meetings.

The steering committee began meeting in January 2023 with its eyes on the district’s future.

“Community input is invaluable in the following steps as the committee develops a District Facilities Plan that meets the current and future needs and desires of the USD 308 community,” the district said in a news release ahead of the public input meetings this month.

The plan and the information gathered from the meetings will be presented to the USD 308 Board of Education in May. This site will be updated with new information as soon as possible.

Over the past two weeks, the District has been conducting community meetings to gather public input regarding a master facilities plan that meets the current and future needs of the USD 308 community. At this point in the process, we are asking for your input by completing a brief anonymous survey.

 The survey is being managed by ExcellenceK12, a company that works with school districts on community research. It should take you 3 to 5 minutes to complete.

Please note, the survey can only be taken once per device (laptop, tablet, etc.). Also, if you begin the survey and then exit before you have completed it, the system will not let you return later. All your answers will be confidential.

Which survey do I take?
We are asking you to take the survey one time, based on the description that best describes you. Staff and Parents are being surveyed separately. If you are a staff member with children in the district, please take the Staff survey. If you do not have children in the district and are not a staff member, please take the community survey.

Each session will include a presentation of committee findings, analysis of the current facilities status, identified areas for improvement, and concepts to develop a comprehensive District Facilities Plan that aligns with the District’s objectives. Information gathered from the committee findings and community meetings will be presented to the USD 308 Board of Education in May along with a comprehensive District Facilities Plan. Each session is free to attend and open to the public.
