The COVID-19 pandemic continues to change the way parents, students and teachers will meet for the winter Parent-Teacher Conferences the week of Jan. 11 for students at Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Middle School – 7 and Hutchinson Middle School – 8.
In the past, vast majority of secondary school conferences were done “arena style” with parents meeting with teachers on a come-and-go basis in a large meeting area.
In 2020-21, however, the conferences will be virtual – either electronically via Zoom or other conferencing tool or telephone calls.
Parents will receive notes on how to set up conferences.
There will be no school for HHS, HMS-7 or HMS-8 on either Jan. 14 or 15. Additionally, there are no conferences on Jan. 15.
The second set of elementary and middle school parent-teacher conferences will not occur until the week of Feb. 22. Classes for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students will be in session on Jan. 14. Jan. 15, however, is a professional development day for Pre-K through sixth grade staff, and there will be no classes for students.
All schools will be closed on Jan. 18 to observe Martin Luther King Day.
