Vacant Seat on USD 308 Hutchinson Public Schools Board of Education

The USD 308 Board of Education is accepting applications from community members who would like to be considered for the vacant board member position. The board member appointed to fill the vacancy will serve from June 12, 2023, through January 8, 2024. The School Board will review all applications and select candidates to interview. Selected candidates will be interviewed at the June 12, 2023, Board of Education Meeting; applicants must be present to be considered.

Applications are available at the USD 308 Administration Center or may be requested by email from brownj@usd308.com. Interested community members must complete and sign an application and return it to Jamie Brown, Clerk of the Board of Education, 1520 N. Plum Street, Hutchinson, KS 67501 by Noon on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Applications may be delivered in person, sent by United States mail, correct postage prepaid, or sent by email addressed to brownj@usd308.com. Applications sent by United States mail must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

To be eligible for appointment to the Board of Education, you must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of the district, and registered to vote in Reno County, Kansas.

The school board is responsible for governing the district and ensuring that schools provide the best possible education for students. As a member of the school board, this individual will have the opportunity to shape policies, advocate for students and schools, and work with educators, staff, and community members to achieve USD 308’s goals.
