Hutchinson High School will have its 139th graduation ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at Gowans Stadium. HHS will have about 350 graduates in 2021.

In case of inclement weather, the alternative plan is to hold the graduation ceremony in the Sports Arena at 2 p.m. on May 23. Any announcement for that change will be made no later than Friday, May 21.

“We are committed to providing a graduation format that promotes the health and safety of our graduates and their families,” said Ryan Ewy, HHS principal.

Each graduate will be allowed eight guests. Additionally, HHS will live stream the ceremony for those who cannot attend or are medically compromised. Watch on Youtube Live at youtu.be/YC9EX994TEg.

Graduates need to be at the Salthawk Activity Center on Sunday, May 23, by 1:15 p.m. to get lined up. Graduates will then walk to the two blocks to Gowans Stadium for the ceremony.

The district is encouraging all families to wear masks and practice social distancing, making sure they are at least six feet away from others in Gowans.

Graduation practice is at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 21, beginning in the Salthawk Activity Center and moving to Gowans Stadium.
