The USD 308 Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 9, 2026.
New Child Care Center Opening The district's new child care center at 29th and Adams is nearly ready. Playground equipment will be installed next week. The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting and self-guided tour on April 3rd at 11:30 a.m.
Bond Update The district is designing a community survey to gather input on the November 2025 bond initiative. The survey will be available in the coming weeks, and community feedback will help guide the board's next steps.
Academic Calendar The board previewed potential meeting dates for the 2026–2027 school year. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, with one meeting in December. For the first time, the district also shared the academic calendar translated into Spanish. The 2026-2027 Academic Calendar is available at www.usd308.com/calendar in both English and Spanish.
Sports & Facilities Superintendent Dr. Johnson recognized winter sports achievements and welcomed the start of spring sports, which kicked off with Gladiator Games. She also noted that Finance Director Abby Stockebrand and Grounds Director Keith Schroeder recently toured all district buildings to assess maintenance needs.
Consent Agenda The board unanimously approved accounts payable, early graduation requests, KASB membership and legal contracts, Leader in Me renewal, surplus items, and gifts to schools.
Executive Session The board met in closed session to discuss personnel matters and a potential property purchase for district services. The personnel report was approved as presented.
